Master of photography Volbenk Pajk

The permanent exhibition is the museum’s latest acquisition. It is dedicated to the famous master of photography Volbenk Pajk from Velenje. While studying and documenting the material received, the idea was born to create an exhibition that would show the processes of developing analogue photography with the help of objects. The silver-gelatine black-and-white photographic technique (typical of the period from 1890 to 1970), which Master Pajk used for most of his professional career, was chosen for the exhibition. The process of developing a photograph is shown in five steps: 1. developing the photographic film, 2. retouching the negatives on a retouching stand, 3. exposing the photograph with an enlarger in the darkroom, 4. developing the photograph in the darkroom and 5. drying the photograph.
