Mirana Aplinca, kustosa Muzeja usnjarstva na Slovenskem, predstavlja zgodovino Šoštanja, mesta z vonjem po usnju, predvsem pa prispeva k boljšemu in temeljitejšemu poznavanju povezanosti gospodarske in socialne zgodovine obravnavanega obdobja na Slovenskem. 16Muzejski odmevi: Mesto z vonjem po usnju at 10:00 Alma Javornik bo v januarski epizodi Muzejskih odmevov gostila kustosa Muzeja usnjarstva na Slovenskem dr. Mirana Aplinca. Pogovor bo tekel o njegovi novi knjigi z naslovom Mesto z vonjem po usnju. Spletne platforme Muzeja Velenje | 17Klepet pod arkadami: Jožef Napotnik at 18:00 Gost prvega Klepeta pod arkadami v letu 2023 bo Jožef Napotnik. Po končani OŠ v Šmartnem ob Paki je zaključil srednjo strokovno črkoslikarsko šolo kot slikopleskar. Kratek čas je bil zaposlen na RLV, sicer pa do upokojitve delal v Gorenju. Znan je po kreiranju reklamnih sporočil za Gorenje (sejemske predstavitve po vsej Evropi, preko 2000 poslikav avtomobilov ipd.), predvsem pa je mojster velikih dekorativnih scenskih slik največjih glasbenih, gledaliških in drugih prireditev po Sloveniji ter v TV oddajah. Prejel je tudi številna priznanja, med njimi Linhartovo srebrno priznanje. Je častni občan občine Šmartno ob Paki. Pogovorni večer bo vodil kustos Muzeja Velenje Damijan Kljajič. VELENJE CASTLE
The headquarters of Velenje Museum are in Velenje Castle, which is famous for being one of the best-preserved Slovenian castles. In historical sources, Velenje Castle was first mentioned in 1270.
MUSEUM OF THE LEATHER INDUSTRY IN SLOVENIA
The Leather Industry in Šoštanj collection presents the development of the craft of tanning into a major industry and an important economic branch.
HOUSE OF MINERALS
Visitors to the House of Minerals can see the rich collection of minerals from Slovenia and around the world, assembled by private collector Jože Rihtar.
KAVČNIK HOMESTEAD
Kavčnik Homestead is an incredible outdoor museum of folk architecture. The central room in one of the oldest wood buildings in Slovenia is a 400-year-old smoke room with an open fireplace, which served for cooking and heating.
GRIL HOMESTEAD
Gril homestead holds the status of a cultural monument. The house was presumably built in the middle of the 19th century as a small winemaking house on a winegrowing slope of Lipje and Vinska Gora.
MEMORIAL ROOM “TOPOLŠICA ON 9TH MAY 1945”
In the building of the thermal park in Topolšica, there is a memorial room which presents partial German capitulation of the army Group E and German forces for the South-Eastern Europe. It was signed by Alexander Löhr.
MEMORIAL CENTRE 1991
Memorial Centre 1991 presents the Šalek and the Upper Savinja Valley during the liberation processes of the Republic of Slovenia with its permanent exhibition, events and teaching programmes.
MEMORIAL PARK AND MEMORIAL ROOM “THE FOURTEENTH DIVISION”
It is not a coincidence that Graška gora became the symbol of patriotism and fight for freedom and a place for remembrance.
MASTODONTI
In 1964, extensive earthworks were made in Škale pri Velenju due to the sinking of the land. One of the engineers found remains of large bones.
AFRICA
The collection displays objects that were collected by the Czech academic sculptor František Foit during his travel and stay in Africa from 1947 to 1971.
PERMANENT EXHIBITION OF THE MODERN SLOVENIAN ART
The permanent exhibition of modern Slovenian art contains 64 paintings and sculptures from the 20th and the 21st century and has been systematically updated and renovated several times since 1975.
BETWEEN THE ROMANESQUE AND BAROQUE PERIODS
The exhibition presents the area of the Šalek Valley from the first written mentions of the valley in the 12th century to the end of the 17th century, when its medieval society started to disappear.
THE ŠALEK VALLEY 1941–1945
The exhibition presents the period of the Second World War in the Šalek Valley. The Šalek Valley was not on the margin of the events during the national liberation movement.
CASTLE CHAPEL
The castle chapel, which was newly consecrated in 2016, is located in the north-west defence tower, which was given a new role in the 17th century.
THE CITY THAT WAS CALLED A MIRACLE
The collection displays the development of the city of Velenje from 1945 to 1960, when a modern organised city emerged from a small rural market under the Velenje Castle, the so-called “socialist miracle”.
OLD SHOP
The collection represents a reconstruction of a general merchandise store from the first half of the 20th century.
OLD INN
The museum inn from the first half of the 20th century has original bar furniture with a bar counter, wooden fridge, cabinets for glasses and plates, gramophones, music cabinet from the 19th century, chairs, benches and tables.
SCULPTOR CIRIL CESAR’S PERMANENT EXHIBITION
The exhibited works by the academic sculptor (and designer) Ciril Cesar draw the developmental arch of sculpting design from the classic, formal and in terms of content non-problematic academic realism…
